As fate would have it, the seafarer from Tian Jin () in China was stuck in Singapore when the second world war broke out. Having mastered his skills working as a ship's cook, Mr Fong started selling dumplings in 1948 at People's Park to make a living. Fast forward till today, Fong Kee has established itself with 74 years of history. Now helmed by the 2nd generation who took over since 1970s, Mr Fong's son keeps the legacy alive. Every dumpling is made by hand, and customers can choose to have them fried or steamed. A bite into the golden-brown crust of a fried dumpling and a plump steamed one will get you contrasting yet satisfying textures. Pair the dumplings with either Fong Kee Rice Cake or Dumpling Skin soup to complete your comforting meal! Watch the video for a glimpse into the making of the dumplings. Brought to you by HappyCat..
