Tomato Cheese Buns | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Mini buns sandwiched with tomato slices and mozzarella cheese.

TOMATO CHEESE BUNS

Ingredients

2 medium tomatoes
30 grams mozzarella cheese
1½ teaspoons olive oil + as required
4 mini buns
2 garlic cloves, sliced
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
4-5 fresh basil leaves

Method

1. Preheat oven at 180º C.
2. Slit buns horizontally, apply some of the oil on top of the buns. Add some of the grated cheese, garlic slices and crushed peppercorns on the base of the buns. Arrange them on a baking tray. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes or till the cheese melts.
3. Remove the tray from the oven, place some of the basil leaves on each toasted bun. Slice tomatoes and place over the basil leaves. Cover with the remaining halves.
4. Serve immediately.
