Trevati Daal is a classic Gujarati dish that is prepare with a combination of three different lentils and the outcome is nothing less than flavourful and aromatic.TREVTI DALIngredients:⅓ cup skinless split green gram (dhuli moong dal), soaked for 3-4 hours and drained⅓ cup split pigeon peas, soaked for 3-4 hours and drained⅓ cup split Bengal gram, soaked for 3-4 hours and drained½ tsp turmeric powder1 inch ginger, grated2 green chillies, slit1 tsp + 1½ tbsps gheeSalt to taste2 medium onions, chopped1 tsp red chilli powderFresh coriander sprig for garnishSteamed rice to serveMethod:1. Put soaked skinless split green gram, soaked pigeon peas and soaked Bengal gram in a pressure cooker, add turmeric powder, ginger, green chillies and 1 tsp ghee and mix well. Add 3 cups water and salt and mix. Cover and cook under pressure till 3-4 whistles are released.2. Heat remaining ghee in a non-stick pan, add onions and sauté till golden brown in colour.3. Add chilli powder and sauté for a minute. Add the cooked gram mixture and ½ cup water and let it boil for 2-3 minutes.4.
