He turned over a new leaf and made a living through cling clang along Liang Ji The Legendary King

He has a chequered past but the second chance of becoming a hawker saved him from a life of delinquency. The business owner, Dominic Neo, was determined to turn a new leaf after his mother passed on while he was serving his jail term. He was fortunate to have met a Mr Wang, who helped him set up his first stall. Grateful, Dominic named the stall as 'Liang Ji The Legendary King'. The word King' refers to 'Wang' Mandarin.

Known for his vigorous stir-frying style, from far, one can already hear the cling clang of metalware from his stall. Specialising in Fried Kway Teow, Carrot Cake and Fried Oyster, Dominic has his unique ways of creating fusions. For example, Cheesy Floss Carrot Cake and Hae Bee Hiam Carrot Cake. Mala and Premium Fried Kway Teow topped with crab meat are other creations with modern twists. Each plate is fried individually upon order. Knowing that customers are now more health conscious, the dishes are less oily.

One would have thought that Pikachu is Dominic's favourite childhood character, a decor that adorned the stall front. But there is more to it. In fond memory of his children after his divorce, and as a way to motivate himself, Dominic dresses himself and his stall in yellow, the colour of Pikachu his children loved.

As a gesture of giving back to the society, Dominic helps out with charity by offering his Carrot Cake every Wednesday. He hopes that he would be able to pass his skills to someone with keen interest in future.
