Caster Sugar½ Vanilla Bean, scraped1 Egg Yolk or 15 ml. Milk1 tsp. Cocoa PowderRed Food ColouringFor the Royal Icing:-1½ cup Powdered Sugar1 tbsp. Corn Flour1 tbsp. Lime Juice2 tbsp. Egg Whites1 tbsp. Water, chilledRed Food ColouringMethod:-- In a bowl, mix refined flour with butter and caster sugar until breadcrumb-like consistency.- Add vanilla bean extract, egg yolk and form a dough.- Divide the dough into 3 portions and add cocoa powder and cold water to one and red food colouring to the second and keep the third one as is. Refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes.- Roll all the dough into a thin sheet and cut into shapes as shown in the video. Place on a baking tray.- Bake at 200°C for 12 minutes.- Let them cool down to room temperature.- In a bowl, beat together powdered sugar, corn flour, lime juice and egg whites.
