Here are several reasons you should cook bacon in the oven.
Its easy, You lay the bacon on a baking sheet and its pretty much hands off. You only need to watch it at the end of its cooking time. You dont really need to turn over the bacon at all.
The bacon turns out flat and crispy as it cooks in its own grease.
The bacon is evenly cooked. No more raw areas and over cooked areas.
The best reason is there is no greasy mess, which I will show you how to avoid the mess below.

Here are the tools you need to cook bacon in the oven.

Rimmed baking sheet lined with aluminum foil
Parchment paper to cover the bacon on the sheet
Tongs

You do not need to preheat the oven.

Place the bacon slices in a single layer on top of the foil lined pan. Try not to have the bacon slices touch each other as they will stick together.

Place a piece of parchment paper over the top of the bacon. This will stop any grease splatter that will try to occur and you will have no mess.

Place the pan in the oven at 350 degrees F. Sometimes I play with the temperature, especially when you are first trying this out. I will start at 350 degrees F. and maybe raise the temperature to 375 degrees F. if cooking is progressing slowly. Remember, oven temperatures vary.

How long to cook the bacon, you ask? That will partly depend on how thick your bacon is. The bacon I used in this video was on the thicker side. I checked it at 15 minutes and found that it ended up needing another 15 minutes of cooking time.

Ive cooked thin bacon with this method and it took 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. Just play with it.

Once the bacon is done, remove it from the oven carefully. Remember that you have a baking sheet full of hot grease. Keep it level.

Remove the parchment paper with tongs. It will be full of dripping grease so carefully deposit it in the garbage. Using tongs place the bacon slices onto a paper towel covered plate to drain. Pat with more paper towels if needed.

Enjoy your evenly cooked, flat crispy bacon with eggs, pancakes, burgers sandwiches, etc.

You will especially enjoy the easy clean up. Just let the baking pan cool until the bacon grease solidifies and roll up the foil and place it in the garbage can. The baking sheet will likely still be greasy but nothing compared to not having that foil in place. Give it a light wash and call it a day!
