This is one of the recipes in the seminal cocktail book by Ted Saucier 'Bottom's Up' - this recipe is credited to 'Cedric Gibbons, Hollywood's Leading Scenic Designer'... Cedric was a little more than that. He designed the statue 'Oscar' that is given away by the Academy Awards, an honour that he won 11 times after 39 nominations.

BUDGET BLUES

1 dash grenadine
1 dash raspberry sirup
Juice lemon
1 loger white rum
jigger curacao
shaved ice
Blend in electric mixer.
Serve in champagne glass with small sprig of fresh mint.
