How to Elevate Store Bought UNAGI
Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS
1 unagi (grilled, aka Kabayaki)
Unagi sauce, as needed
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sake
Tamagoyaki (Japanese Omelet), as needed
2 bowls steamed rice
Japanese pepper (aka Sansho), as needed

PREPARATION
1. Place the unagi in a strainer. Pour the hot water to wash off the sauce. Pat dry unagi with paper towels.
2. Cook the unagi (1) on a lightly oiled pan (skin side down) on high heat. Flip when nicely browned. Cook the other side while absorbing excess oil with paper towels. Add sake.
3. Flip the unagi. Add the sauce and simmer.
4. Place the tamagoyaki and the unagi on the rice. Add some sansho on top.
5. Enjoy!
