Today we're making mochi, a common Japanese sweet. Traditionally made around New Year's, mochi are soft sticky sweets made from a dough of pounded steamed rice, and filled with a sweet bean paste, or anko. Rather than using fresh rice, this recipe uses glutinous rice flour and a microwave, resulting in a pretty good homemade dupe.
