Kim Hock Seng BBQ Pork Slices () Geylang Road

Known for his sweet Bak Kwa and honey bacon made only during Chinese New Year, Uncle Ong hand-makes his Bak Kwa using traditional techniques rarely found in Singapore nowadays. The preparations are laborious, from slicing, marinating of pork, laying in 1-metre diameter basket trays, roasting on charcoal, to grilling. The result is slightly crisp, smoky charred, and savoury Bak Kwa.

The artisanal skills could be another one at risk of vanishing when Mr Ong retires. Do drop by to try Uncle Ong's Bak Kwa.
