Prawns Do Pyaza | Tiffin Treats by Roopa Nabar | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Prawns cooked with lot of onions and mild spices. A must try recipe.

PRAWNS DO PYAZA

Ingredients

400 grams medium prawns, shelled and deveined
2 medium onions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons mustard oil
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
Salt to taste
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1½ teaspoons red chilli powder
1 medium onion, cut into cubes and layers separated
1-2 green chillies, slit
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
Rotis for serving
Pickle for serving

Method

1. Heat mustard oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
2. Add chopped onions and sauté on high heat till golden brown. Add tomatoes and sauté for 1-2 minutes or till oil separates.
3. Add prawns, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder and mix well.
4. Sprinkle some water on top, mix and cook for 1 minute. Reduce heat and cook for 4-5 minutes.
5. Add onion cubes and green chillies, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
6. Serve hot with rotis and pickle.
