Pulimilagai is a traditional South Indian brahmin recipe. It's very delicious and goes well with all kootu varieties.I love to eat this with dosa and adai.It's spicy, tangy and very easy to prepare.Ingredients:Tamarind juice- 1.5 cupsSesame oil- 2 tspMustard seeds- 1/2 tspChannadal- 1.5 tspUraddal- 1.5 tspGreen chillies- 8-10Curry leaves- 1 stemTurmeric powder- 1/2 tspSalt- As neededHing- A pinchDirections:1.Heat 2 tsp sesame oil.Add mustard seeds.When the mustard seeds starts to crackle, add channadal and uraddal.2. when the dal turns golden brown, add green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for a minute.3. Then add tamarind juice, turmeric powder, salt and hing.4. Let it boil for at least 10 minutes over medium flame.
