Pulimilagai/ Green chilli gravy | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Pulimilagai is a traditional South Indian brahmin recipe. It's very delicious and goes well with all kootu varieties.I love to eat this with dosa and adai.It's spicy, tangy and very easy to prepare.

Ingredients:
Tamarind juice- 1.5 cups
Sesame oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Channadal- 1.5 tsp
Uraddal- 1.5 tsp
Green chillies- 8-10
Curry leaves- 1 stem
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- As needed
Hing- A pinch

Directions:
1.Heat 2 tsp sesame oil.Add mustard seeds.
When the mustard seeds starts to crackle, add channadal and uraddal.
2. when the dal turns golden brown, add green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for a minute.
3. Then add tamarind juice, turmeric powder, salt and hing.
4. Let it boil for at least 10 minutes over medium flame. Switch off the heat when the gravy has become thick.
