Tawa pulao is a popular Mumbai style street food made by tossing cooked rice with mixed veggies and a spicy tomato based masala - an ideal one pot meal. TAWA PULAOIngredients3 cups cooked Basmati rice 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 1 medium onion, finely chopped2 cups tomato puree2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped1 medium green capsicum, finely chopped ½ cup green peas, boiled and coarsely crushedSalt to taste1 tablespoon red chilli paste 1½ tablespoons pav bhaji masala2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnishing2 tablespoons lemon juice Yogurt for servingMethod1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when they change colour, add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute. 2. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add tomato puree, mix and cook on high heat for 2 minutes or till the mixture thickens.3. Add chopped tomatoes, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add capsicum and green peas, mix and cook for 1 minute.4. Add salt, red chilli paste and pav bhaji masala, mix and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. 5. Add rice and mix lightly. Add 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, mix and cook for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and mix well. 6.
