These fluffy baked bao and filled with sweet red bean paste and make for an amazing breakfast, dessert, or snack.INGREDIENTS (16 buns):- 3 cups (~360g) all-purpose flour- 1.75 cups (~414 ml) buttermilk- 320g (~1 cup) red bean paste- 1 tbsp. ghee- 1 tsp. sugar- 1 tsp. yeast- 1 egg (for egg wash)DIRECTIONS:1. Combine flour, sugar, and yeast and mix evenly2. Pour in warmed buttermilk and begin to mix together3. Mix in ghee4. Mix and knead into dough5. Cover and let rise for 1 hour6. Knead once at the halfway mark7. After 1 hour, knead dough on a floured surface8. Divide dough into 16 pieces9. Knead each individual piece and flatten into circular wrapper10. Place a piece of red bean paste into the middle of each wrapper and wrap into bao shape as shown11. brush on egg wash12. cover and let rest for about 30 minutes13. bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes14. serve and enjoy! buns can be stored at room temperature for several days in sealed container
