Serves 12 -16 persons
This cake is quite easy and can also be done in steps. You can use dark chocolate bar or leftovers from your Easter chocolates to make the simple ganache.
Additionally, you could decorate the top either with a simple pattern or add anything you or the person you make it for, prefer!
The main idea is to be very chocolaty! Because nothing says Happy Birthday better than a rich, moist chocolate cake, dont you agree?
Suitable for lacto-ovo vegetarians.

INGREDIENTS:
Ingredients for the cake:
250 gr / 9 oz Butter, soft
1.1 cups / 250 gr / 9 oz Caster Sugar (fine)
5 medium Eggs at room temperature
1.7 cups / 220 gr / 7.8 oz Self-raising Flour, sifted
4 tbsp. / 30 gr / 1 oz Cocoa Powder, sifted
2.5 tbsp. / 35 ml fresh Milk
1.5 tsp. Baking Powder

Ingredients for the Simple Ganache:
250 gr / 9 oz Dark Chocolate, 58% cocoa, broken in small pieces
3 tbsp. / 38 gr / 1.3 oz Caster Sugar
1.4 cups / 350 ml Whipping Cream (double cream) 35% fat
