According to Wikipedia, three cup chicken (3 cup chicken) or sanbeiji originated from Jiangxi province of southern China but became especially popular in Taiwan. I guess that's why many people thought this is a Taiwanese dish. Oh well at least i did. The dish derives its name from the three cups of sauces required as ingredients. For each chicken, a cup each of soy sauce, rice wine (usually mijiu although it may be mixed with Shaoxing jiu), and sesame oil are added. However, ours have been modified to suit our taste buds. Hope you can recreate this yummy dish in the comfort of your home.
