This recipe is a variation from the renowned Melomakarona cookies recipe. It is called Haslamas and they prepare it in Northern Greece and the island of Samothrace. The taste and scent is the same as for Melomakarona but instead of making individual cookies, it is made as a whole cake in an oven pan for a much easier and quicker preparation. The result is a "cake" with a crispy surface and a mellow, gooey heart and the promise that the whole house will be filled with aromas of cinnamon, cloves, honey and orange-the fragrances of Christmas!! Let's prepare it together!Suitable for vegetarians and fasting.
