Lambropsomo is a traditional bread that Greek people usually prepare on Holy Thursday to consume on Holy Saturday Midnight Dinner and/or the celebratory Easter Sunday lunch.
It is not a common bread! Instead it is something between a bread and Tsoureki. It's usually large and round with some elaborate garnishing on top. It also contains aromatic spices: Mahlep, Mastiha and Anise, making it really stand out from other breads.
Lambropsomo is the best centerpiece for your Easter table and I have so many fond memories of my Father breaking bread on this holy celebration.
Try my recipe and I promise you won't be disappointed.
Suitable for lacto-ovo vegetarians.
