Serves 6-8 persons
I know, I know I should have posted this recipe a long time ago, but there are so many good ones to share. This one though is absolutely amazing. It belongs to my beloved Mom and she shared the recipe with me.
When I was growing up, she prepared this pie quite often, because we really loved it, it made the perfect dinner but was also great for school/work lunches! She made it using (thin) phyllo pastry, for that wonderful, crispy effect.
This is one super-duper recipe, I am proud to share with you, to try at home for your family!

INGREDIENTS:
Ingredients for the pastry:
450 gr / 1lb Phyllo (filo) Pastry (1 large package), thawed
60 gr / 2 oz Butter salted, melted

Ingredients for the ground meat sauce:
550 gr / 1lb 5.5 oz Minced Beef
210 gr / 7.25 oz / 200 ml canned thick Tomato sauce
2 tbsp. Tomato Puree-Paste
4.5 tbsp. / 70 ml Vegetable Oil
2 Bay leaves
1 Medium Onion, diced
1 tsp. Sugar
Ground Salt and Pepper

Ingredients for the Bchamel Sauce:
lt / 2 cups fresh Milk half-skimmed, very HOT!!
50 gr / 1.75 oz Margarine
50 gr / 1.75 oz / 0.4 cup All-purpose Flour
1 medium Egg
1/2 tsp. ground Nutmeg
100 gr / 3.5 oz / almost 1 cup grated Kefalotyri or Graviera Cheese (altern: Gouda, Pecorino)
Ground Salt and Pepper
