Serves 4-5 persons
Sausages can be grilled or BBQed just by themselves! Or they can be used in combination with: either pulses (legumes) or starchy ingredients to bring out and enhance their flavor.
This one-pan dish combines Greek Kritharaki Pasta (i.e. orzo) and good quality sausages, and uses a similar method to the preparation of Risotto, hence its new trendy name Kritharoto.
Try it and see for yourself what a delicious and pretty dish I have created for you!

INGREDIENTS:
350 gr / 12 oz large, smoked Greek Village Sausages
About 2 cups / 350 gr / 12 oz thick Greek Orzo Pasta-Kritharaki (or Manestra)
30 ml / 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
1 medium Onion, sliced (I used sweet onion)
1-2 Garlic cloves, sliced
2 tbsp. Tomato Puree (paste)
200 gr / 7 oz canned, chopped Tomatoes (concasse)
1 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. dry Oregano
1.15 lt. HOT Water
1 tsp. smoked Paprika powder
30 ml / 2 tbsp. red wine Vinegar
150 gr / 5.5 oz / 3 pcs. Red Sweet Roasted Florina Peppers, cubed
bunch fresh Parsley, chopped
Ground Salt and Pepper
Optional: Grated Cheese
