You will be amazed by the least amount of spices used in this tasty, spicy yet simple Kumaoni veg curry with dried lentil dumplings . I am glad that my friend and my guest Manjari Katare prepared this dish for my channel

100 gram Black Gram Lentil Dumplings (Dried)
1 Onion (Sliced) Medium Size
½ tsp. Cumin
4-5 Green Chillies
12-15 Garlic Cloves
2 tbsp. Wheat Flour
Salt to taste
½ tsp. Turmeric
1 pinch Asafoetida
Oil for frying & cooking

Crush Garlic and green chillies separately. Fry Black gram Lentil Dumplings in hot Mustard oil and keep aside.
Add Cumin & Asafoetida in 1 tsp. hot oil for tempering. Now add sliced onion and sauté till they are soft.
Now add 2 tbsp. wheat flour in the pan. Keep stirring and roast till the flour is aromatic. Now add 2 glasses of water, stirring continuously, so that no lumps remained. Now add Black gram lentil dumplings, green chilli, garlic, salt and turmeric in the curry. Mix properly and let the curry boil. Cover and cook. Stir occasionally.
Cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes till dumpling are soft. Serve hot.
