Spicy Chicken Strips (西式辣鸡条)

These juicy chicken strips are tender on the inside from being soaked in buttermilk and are crunchy, crispy, and flavorful on the outside.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb. chicken breast
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tbsp. corn starch
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tbsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. Sichuan pepper powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric
- buttermilk (enough to coat the chicken breasts twice)
- oil

DIRECTIONS:
1. coat the chicken breasts in buttermilk
2. mix together the flour, corn starch, chili powder, paprika, cornmeal, Sichuan pepper powder, salt, and turmeric
3. cover the chicken breasts in a layer of the flour mixture
4. repeat steps 1 and 3
5. add oil to a pan on medium heat
6. pan fry the chicken breasts until golden on both sides
7. serve and enjoy!
