Are you a fan of the Christmas Season and all its various traditions around the world? I have always been a devotee since I was a small child.
I enjoyed making the traditional gingerbread house with my family and see the little fingers grabbing the candy from it.
Inspired by this idea, I thought to create my very own complete cake in the shape of a small house in the woods in the snow. This way, it wont be hollow and I could make it even more festive by making a 3-layered/colors cake!
Like all good things, it needs some effort to prepare, but my daughter and I had a lot of fun decorating it.
By all means, this is not a professional looking cake! But its homemade, made with love and shared with love to you all.
Use your imagination and have fun this Holiday Season creating your own Christmas House together with your children/grandchildren. Just follow my basic ideas.
Suitable for lacto-ovo vegetarians.

INGREDIENTS
Ingredients for the cake:
600 gr / 1 lb 5.5 oz / 4.8 cups Self-Raising Flour, sifted
310 gr / 10.9 oz / 1.4 cups Butter (or margarine), soft
3 large Eggs, at room temperature
500 gr / 1 lb 2 oz / 2.2 cups Sugar
500 ml / 2 cups fresh Milk
175 gr / 6 oz / 0.6 cup Greek Strained Yoghurt 2.5% or 0% fat
12 gr / 0.4 oz / 1 tbsp. Vanilla Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
tsp. Baking Soda
1.5 tsp. Baking Powder
Food Colors: Green and Red paste

Ingredients for the filling and decorating:
400 gr / 14 oz Store-bought Cream Cheese Icing (filling)
800 gr / 1 lb 11.75 oz Store-bought Buttercream Frosting White (garnish)
A small piece white Fondant for the Chimney
Lady Fingers cookies for the roof tiles
Various Candy, Candy figures, Sugar coated candy, Candy canes, Powder Sugar etc.
