Well, I know what you are thinking nowthis is not a Greek recipe. However, sometimes, I do post a dish which is not particularly Greek but its really worth my time posting its recipe.
This dessert is exactly that. A majestic, classic British/American Strawberry Shortcake which I prepared for Mother's Day and let me tell you, it was such a great hit!
Three layers of refreshing, moist shortcake with coats of deliciously light whipped cream and fresh strawberries, now in season. I have no words to describe it, so I will let my pictures speak for themselves.
Lets find out together how to prepare it.
Suitable for lacto-ovo Vegetarians.

INGREDIENTS:
Ingredients for the Shortcake:
3 cups / 375 gr / 13 oz Self-raising Flour
1.7 cups / 375 gr / 13 oz Sugar
1 & 1/3 cup / 300 gr / 10.5 oz unsalted Butter or Margarine, very soft
1 tbsp. / 15 ml Vanilla extract
1.2 cups / 300 ml / 290 gr / 10 oz Fresh Milk @ room temperature
3 Large Eggs @ room temperature
1 tsp. Baking Powder
tsp. Baking Soda
tsp. Salt

Ingredients for the stabilized Whipped Cream:
1 lt / 4 cups / 500 gr / 1 lb 2 oz Ready, sweetened, Whipped Cream
5 gr / 0.18 oz / 2 Gelatin Sheets
1 tbsp. / 15 ml Warm Water
500 gr / 1 lb 2 oz Fresh strawberries
Optional: A Rose and 300 gr / 10.5 oz Fresh strawberries, washed, for extra garnishing around the plate
