Trahanas soup is the kind of soup that is a remedy for an upset stomach especially after consumption of a lot of food and drink.
But what is Trahana? Trahanas (as it is known in Greek) is an ancient type of pasta made out of grain and fermented milk or yoghurt (Greek variety). In other countries it is also known as tarhana.
Trahana is very cheap and can be stored and last for a long time. In my recipe, I use sour Trahana, but you could use sweet, if you prefer. At the end I add some Feta cheese for extra flavour, which you can leave out for a lighter soup.
Let me show you how to prepare this comfort, winter soup.
Suitable for lacto-vegetarians.

INGREDIENTS:
200 gr / 7 oz / 1 cup Trahana sour or sweet
1.25 lt. / 5 cups Water
1.5 tbsp. Tomato puree (paste)
40 ml / 3.5 tbsp. Olive oil
1 tsp. Sugar
Ground Salt and Pepper
About 60 gr / 2.1 oz Feta cheese, crumbled (to be divided to all plates)
