Veg Dal Kabab | veg shami kebab | वेज कबाब बनाने की विधि | नान वेज कबाब के टक्कर के वेज कबाब

These easy to make, Kebabs are made with very less ingredients, yet they are very close to the taste of non-veg kebab.
These are healthy too, as these are rich in protein and iron, and contain very little fat and carbs.

Ingredients:

2 cups Red Lentil (Whole)
1 cup Yellow Gram lentil
6-7 Black Pepper Corn
2 Black Cardamom
2 nos Allspice Corn
2 Dry Red Chilli
Salt to taste
Water
½ tsp. Red Chilli Powder
½ tsp. Garam Masala
2 medium Onion (Chopped)
2 Green Chilli (chopped)
2 tbsp. Green Coriander (Chopped)
1 tbsp. Ginger (Chopped)
Oil for Shallow Frying

Method:

Wash and soak Lentils in fresh water for 3 hours. Drain water. Add Lentils whole spices, salt and 1 tsp. Oil in a pan, add little water and pressure cook up to 2 whistles. Peel boiled potatoes and mash. Add chopped Onion, Ginger, Green Chili, Green Coriander and powdered masalas in potatoes and mix.
When Lentils cool down, grind them into fine paste without adding water. Now add this paste to potato mixture and mix properly, Grease your palm and make small balls out of this mixture, flatten the ball, and roast on medium heat on a hot griddle. Use very little oil and roast the kebabs golden brown.
Garnish with Onion rings and serve hot with green chutney or tomato sauce.

Important Tips:

While cooking lentils, use little water, just to cover lentils.
Use very little Oil while roasting Kebabs. The kebabs will loose their shape and will scatter if excess oil is used. You can add ½ cup soya granules too while cooking the Lentils to get some more taste to the Kebabs.
