Black Bean Hummus | The Chinese Cuisine

Hummus is a dip in Middle Eastern cuisine that pairs well with pita bread/chips and vegetables. We always ate store bought varieties until we started making it at home. It tastes creamier and even healthier homemade!
Remember to store hummus in the fridge and you can always adjust the ingredients based on taste! This is not an entirely authentic recipe, but it tastes just as amazing!

INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups cooked chickpeas (not canned, with water, cooked in pressure WITH salt)
- 3 tablespoons black beans, cooked and drained
- 1 tablespoon sesame paste
- cayenne pepper
- ground cumin
- 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- drizzle of sesame oil or olive oil
- 1 clove garlic
- chickpea water (left over from cooking the chickpeas)

DIRECTIONS:
1. mix sesame paste with chickpea water until smooth & less viscous
2. combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender. at the end, add enough chickpea water until it reaches the '1 cup' mark
3. blend until smooth (about 2 minutes)
4. serve and enjoy!
