Boiled Five Spice Peanuts (煮五香花生)

These boiled peanuts have a delicious depth of flavors from the various seasonings and spices in this recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
- 120g raw peanuts
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 tbsp. salt
- star anise
- fennel seeds
- bay leaf
- Sichuan peppercorns
- cinnamon (strip)

DIRECTIONS:
- put fennel, sichuan pepper, and star anise in tea infuser
- put bay leaf, cinnamon, tea infuser, salt and peanuts into a pot and add in water
- simmer for 1 hour
- scoop peanuts out of water
- serve and enjoy!
