BURI-DAIKON Japanese traditional simmered Yellowtail and Daikon radish (EP270)

BURI-DAIKON, simmered yellowtail and Daikon radish is a classic Japanese-style homemade dish eaten mainly in the wintertime when it's peak season.

The yellowtail using here is a scraps and head part.

Its a kind of ugly delicious, but taste so so good.

Im going to show you how to remove the fishy smell from the yellowtail and the tips of preparing the Daikon the most deliciously.

The dish is really good with a bowl of hot steamed rice. It tastes so good.


4 servings
1 pound (450g) yellowtail head and scraps
1~1.5 pound (450~700g) Daikon radish
Rice water to cover
1 cup Sake (or water)
2 tbs soy sauce
2 tbs Mirin
1 tbs sugar
30g Fresh ginger
Yuzu peel for aromatic (or shredded ginger)
