Chinese Pearl Ball (珍珠丸子) | The Chinese Cuisine

Chinese pearl balls are pork meatballs covered in sticky rice. It is a popular food; very flavorful and easy to make.

INGREDIENTS (for 24 pearl balls):
- 1 cup glutinous rice
- 1/2 lb. (225 g) ground pork
- ginger powder
- white pepper powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- cooking wine
- light soy sauce
- chopped green onions
- half a lotus root

DIRECTIONS:
1. soak 1 cup glutinous rice in water for 30 minutes
2. add ginger powder, white pepper powder, salt, cooking wine, and light soy sauce into ground pork and mix
3. chop up some green onions and add them into pork; mix
4. chop up lotus root (make sure to peel it) into fine pieces add into pork; mix
5. form pork into meatball and coat in rice
6. steam for 20 minutes once the water has begun to boil
7. serve and enjoy!
