Crustless 10 Hortopita i.e. Wild Greens Pie with Amaranth (Vlita) greens and Feta Ipirwtiki Hortopita aka Batsaria or Blatsaria twn 10 me Vlita kai FetaMakes 8 large pcs.Hortopita i.e. Wild Greens Pie or Batsaria or Blatsaria is a simple to prepare, delicious crustless flour-based Pie, originating from Epirus, famous for its variety of pies. Traditionally these pies are the easiest and most ancient since there was no fillo in ancient times. It is a baked mush pie usually made with: flour, eggs, milk or yogurt, feta cheese and seasoning.I don't exactly follow the traditional recipe, since I only add the beloved Vlita greens in the batter, but you can also use herbs and other seasonal wild greens or a combination. The result is a thin, super-crispy pie full with rustic, earthy flavors prepared quickly by busy parents and enjoyed by the whole family.Let's find out together how to prepare it.Suitable for lacto-ovo vegetarians.More Information about the Epirus Hortopita at the end of my recipe.INGREDIENTS: 3 cups / 375 gr / 13 oz All-purpose Flour, sifted and a bit more for the tray 2 cups / 500 ml Fresh Milk, warm 2 medium Eggs 2/3 cup / 165 ml Olive Oil 250 gr / 8.8 oz Feta cheese, crumbled Less than cup / 50 gr / 1.75 oz grated Kefalotyri Cheese (altern: Pecorino, Parmesan) Ground Salt and Pepper 500 gr / 1 lb 2 oz Fresh Vlita Greens (Amaranth) or other wild greens or combo , 10 BY: Greek Cooking Made Easy 8 , , , , . . : , , , . , . , , , . . . .: 3 . / 375 / 13 oz ..., 2 . / 500 ml , 2 2/3 . / 165 ml 250 / 8,8 oz , . / 50 / 1,75 oz (: , ) 500 / 1 lb 2 oz
