Shrimp & Tofu (虾球和豆腐) | The Chinese Cuisine

This dish is rich with flavor, with golden brown tofu paired with juicy shrimp.

INGREDIENTS:
- raw shrimp
- 1/2 block tofu, cubed
- salt
- cornstarch
- 1/2 whisked egg
- olive oil
- cooking wine
- green onions
- sugar

DIRECTIONS:
1. prepare shrimp by defrosting and de-shelling if needed
2. cube tofu
3. marinate in salt for 1 hour
4. after 1 hour, coat shrimp & tofu in even layers of cornstarch
5. mix shrimp and tofu together and coat in whisked egg to prevent hot oil from splattering during cooking
6. heat a pan on medium heat
7. add olive oil to the hot pan
8. add in a splash of cooking wine, green onions, a little bit more salt, and sugar
9. cook shrimp and tofu until fully cooked with a golden brown coating on the outside
10. serve and enjoy!
