Zhao Shao (Teriyaki) Chicken (照烧鸡) | The Chinese Cuisine

This chicken dish is tasty and easy to cook!

INGREDIENTS:
- 3 chicken thighs
- 2-4 cloves of sliced garlic (depends on your taste)
- thinly sliced ginger
- several pieces of rock sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp. light soy sauce mixed with 1 tbsp. dark soy sauce

DIRECTIONS:
1. marinate the chicken thighs in salt for 30 mins.
2. add olive oil to a pan on low heat
3. add in ginger slices first, then garlic
4. add in chicken thighs
5. raise to medium heat
6. mix soy sauces with oyster sauce
7. mix water and sugar (no need to dissolve)
8. pour in both mixtures
9. flip the chicken occasionally
10. turn down the heat and let the liquid simmer
11. cook until most of the liquid has evaporated
12. serve chicken sliced and with some of the sauce! enjoy!
