★MOCHI in 5 Ways★ Japanese Mochi Recipe (EP161) | Kitchen Princess Bamboo

Today I’m going to be showing how we eat Kiri Mochi in five ways.

During the New Year’s season, we eat a lot of Mochi.


But in my household of three, we have a lot of leftovers from the new year holidays.

So, In this month, I eat Mochi for my lunch and snacks almost everyday.

Actually, Mochi has no flavor so you can cook however you like!

These are my favorite way to eat Mochi, and I hope you will like it too.


・Isobe Yaki
1~2 Kiri Mochi
1 tsp soy sauce
1~2 sheets Nori seaweed

・Abekawa Mochi (Kinako Mochi)
2 tbs Toasted soybean flour (Kinako)
½ tbs sugar
a pinch of salt
1~2 Kiri Mochi

・Zunda Mochi
1 cup frozen Edamame
½ tbsp sugar
a pinch of salt
1~2 Kiri Mochi

・Age Dashi Mochi
⅓ cup Dashi
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs mirin
30 g Daikon radish
10 g carrot
10 g scallion
Katsuobushi bonito flakes
1~2 Kiri Mochi

・Walnut & red bean paste Mochi crepe
1 tbs all-purpose flour
1 tbs Japanese black sugar (or dark brown sugar)
2 tbs water
a pinch of salt
3~4 tbs Anko red bean paste
2~3 tbs roasted walnut
1 Kiri Mochi
